Teen and Adolescent Counseling in the Dallas, TX Area

We Offer a Safe Environment to Navigate Life's Growing Pains

Adolescence is a transformative phase of life---and almost by definition, that comes with difficult and complex feelings. We are a compassionate team of licensed counselors dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space where teenagers can express themselves freely and work through their unique challenges. Our goal is to empower teens to navigate life's ups and downs, build resilience, and develop essential coping skills to lead fulfilling and balanced lives.

Our Approach to Teen Therapy

We believe in a client-centered and holistic approach to counseling, tailored specifically to meet the needs of adolescents. Our counselors are well-versed in various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), art therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Every person and their circumstances are different, so we customize our counseling methods to suit each individual's personality, interests, and goals.

We offer a variety of services to support teens through various challenges, from individual, one-on-one sessions to teen group counseling and family counseling. Our goal is to help young people reduce feelings of isolation and find a sense of connection, belonging, and purpose. Whether we're using specialized techniques to help teens manage stress, cope with anxiety, heal from grief or trauma, or improve their overall well-being, our clients can feel confident that they have a non-judgmental space to simply be.

Your Teen Counseling Questions Answered

How Do I Know if My Teen Needs Therapy?

The decision to seek therapy for your teenager can be complex. If they express a desire or interest in therapy, we highly recommend allowing them to explore this avenue. Therapy is a great way for them to build confidence and learn to cope with life's new challenges without feeling like they have to limit themselves to please their teachers, friends, or guardians.

However, your teen may not actively seek help---it's hard to do, even for adults! But if you notice sudden, dramatic withdrawal from you or the things they used to love, signs of issues with anger or depression, or if your family has recently gone through a major change (death, divorce, etc.) it may be the right time to consider counseling.

Please feel free to contact us if you have questions about our teen therapy services and whether they might be a good fit for your child!

What Can Therapists Share with Parents?

Adolescents, teens, and young adults still have the right to confidentiality in therapy. That means, if there's something that a teen client doesn't want their parents to know, our counselors will not divulge that information. We believe this approach gives young people a necessary safe space where they can express their emotions without fear of judgment or consequences.

We also recognize that secrets can contribute to feelings of anxiety or depression. Our therapists can help young adults navigate these fears, create plans to share important information with their parents, and even invite parents into sessions to provide support during the discussion. But ultimately, the decision about whether and how to express these feelings is up to them.

There are some exceptions to the right to confidentiality, which you can learn more about on our FAQs page.
